*sigh* No, you're not half wrong, you're two-halves wrong :P.
The dance is an Irish Step Dance A.K.A the dance was taken from The Riverdance, which IS originated from Irish tradition. Please correct yourself^^. You should be able to tell, because of the form in which the Mesmer dances, is dissimilar to Tap Dancing.
Upon further discovery, Tap Dancing originated from Africans as a means of communication during the slave-trade times in america... well African-Americans more specifically^^. It was later stylized and called "Buck and Wing" which later reformed into Tap-Dancing. You also have Irish Clogging which share the same roots to tap dancing. It involves no movement or special positioning of the upper body at all (unlike step dancing), just the feet moving.

1.5k kurzick, 15k kurzick, 15k rogues (although crappy mod on it), ancient and obsidian armors are all great in my opinion. female mesmers tend to look nicer in general, but the armors i listed look great on both.
but i have to agree....
CHANGE THE MESMER'S DANCE!

IMO mesmer armor has the widest range of themes, with everyone finding some styles lovely and others hideous. Personally I detest all armors that look like they're 2 seconds away from falling/slipping off . . . although I understand why they're in the game. Carry on, gentlemen.

i think that the armor of the mesmers is one of the best i LOVE the full length dresses of the female mesmers and the nice jackets of the men
i think that the mesmer armor from factions is a little out of character and almost ele-esque but the origional ones are great!!!
my only 2 complaints with the armor is that its really hard to dye mesmer armor because it takes the colors in a wierd way and that its very hard to mix styles with it. i like mixing up my armor from different styles so i dont look like every other player out there but the mesmer armor looks funny when mixed together. other than that its the best stuff in the game and the armor makes the mesmer what it is...
and if you dont like the dance then dont dance.....

I've never liked male mes armour so when I made my own mes I didn't even consider ever making a male one. As for female mesmer armour, there's a few I'm not a fan of at all but there's a couple that are descent aesthetically speaking.
Enchanters from Prophecies, a guildmate has it and its not too bad.
15k Kurz, it has a sort of burlesque look to it which works.
15k Vabbian, which is what I have, looks nice dyed with a mix of red and purple, very regal looking.

I really like the mesmers' armors. I can imagine it in Pre-Searing Ascalon...
A member of the theater is called to battle by Sir Tydus. After trying out some weapons, a cane strikes his fancy.
Upon the Searing, he finds some new clothes to aid in his "warrior" image. As he moves out of Ascalon, he finds clothes that reflect his life before the Searing.
The mesmers' armors are the best in the game, IMO.

Templates...
Being an Mesmer Armour Connesuier myself, I LOVE mesmer armors.
HOWEVER.
They really need need to change the template for the dresses. They all look way too similar. I was not suprised the community did not like the new nightfall armor simply because the design is just increasingly similar. ANET needs to create Regal yet not similar armor. Not that I don't like my armor though ^^

I like mesmer armour for the most part... :. But what I hate, is when mesmers show as much skin as possible. ._. Even most of these Armour threads seem to be "Hey, look at this ultra showy armour combo I found!" "Ooh, what is it?"
Which <in my belief> is not really what mesmers are meant to do... >>; Its turned the mesmer into a class mainly filled with lusty teens.<~4/5 mesmers I find have a name sexually oriented> Everyone seems to pick enchanter's armour, which was fine around the beginning due to the energy boost, but now it seems that they just pick it to walk around in a nightgown...<Not very practical...> Or they seem to mix and match pieces to get the most showy armour possible.<15k luxon top, almost any bottom, and Vabbian Boots>
In-case you haven't really noticed...no mesmer pvp seems to be "Showing her stuff"<Seaguard Hala is wearing pants, and her top shows the stomach but otherwise is not too showy>, and all the mesmer npcs are nobility, high-classed in their society<Meaning that they seem to actually be rather educated or prestige(Not even the luxon mesmers, are very violent, and the luxon society in whole seems savage...)> psychics or playwrites. Even our undergarments seem to be conservative... Also mesmerism means psychic hypnotism, not sexual seduction.
In my opinion, all of you want want to be half-nude in game should move on to a class that seems rather more meant for the part... >>; <Elementalists mabye? Considering most of their armour seems rather loose>
Anyway...on to the topic, I personally love most of the dresses, although the new dye combo has ruined some(The noble set now dyes horribly...) other sets are still fine. Virtuoso set looks very nice<I don't wear it because my hairstyle clips with the collar...>, also kurzick isn't too bad. The 15k version looks a bit like a goth-loli, but the 1.5k version looks like some adventuring dress. I admit that vabbian looks very nice and regal, though I prefer 15k sunspear somehow.. >>; I think it was the sleeves or something that got me... I quite like Ancient armour, it looks very nice and practical for someone that is off to adventure somewhere because of its simplicity and sensibility. So...yeah... >>; And all the mesmer lust has gotten rather rediculous... >>;

Oo mesmer armor....I like the girls big long dresses they look soo cool >.<.
My mesmer guy has 15k luxon armor, I also love luxon armor :3 >.>boo kurzink
Specially because the luxon armors aren't formal shirts, they have scarfs which i think look awesome ( I hate mesmers necks). But sometimes it makes me look fat -_-, thats sok tho !

You seem to be placing your own morals on the gaming community, Calluette Hanuette... Its a game, what people wear isn't really of consequence. I'm sure some of the people that wear the 'lusty armour' are doing so to attract attention, etc. Don't blame players for what they wear, we didn't design the armours or choose which ones are available, Anet did. When someone comments about lusty armour it more often than not speaks more about the person that says it since others consider it just armour, not an object of lust as you seem to do...
I didn't read the parts about the dance before but yeah, the male and female dances need a change, considering they are the only ones offhand I can think of that have an identical dance between the genders. A little variety could help.
Oh and I finally got my 15k Kurz armour set and its awesome. I'll be using it when I'm focusing on illusion magic primarily.

Actually the title of uninspired armor that looks all the same despite where you buy it belongs to the Dervish. It's all the same basemodel with a different swingie thingie on it. And because the swingie thingie has two more spikes it's called obsidian swingie thingie Dervish Armor :X
